The Air Jordan 8 was the last Air Jordan shoe that Jordan wore before retiring the first time.The Jordan Retro 8 was first retroed in 2003. Nike kept it short and sweet with the Air Jordan viii retro release. There were only 4 colorways released in total with two mids and two lows. Designed for Quintin Richardson of the New York Knicks, they sport a predominantly white leather upper along with blue and orange accents, which blend with the team’s colorway. The ankle area has “Q 23″ stitched into it, which is his initial alongside his jersey number. Their release marked the first time that a Player Exclusive color scheme was actually available for retail.

The shoe also features anti-inversion cross straps, poly carbonate torsion plate, air sole, and an inner sleeve similar to the Nike Air Huarache. The point of the inner sleeve was to really have the shoe conform / stick to your foot, similar to Tinker Hatfield’s intentions with the Air Jordan 7 (VII). Also (just something to know), the Air Jordan 8 (VIII) was the first Air Jordan to not feature Nike’s logo ( including the Original versions). It was at this point that Tinker felt the Jordan brand was strong enough to stand on its own.
